My usual updates after seeing several movies…
- Shrek 3: Loved it. Some said it was not as funny, but I disagree. Great story line, great script, excellent cinematography.
- Pirates of the Caribbean 3: Somewhat long for what I thought was necessary, and still leaves the door wide open for more storyline. Still great Cinematography, great script and great acting. Just a bit long – that is my only critique
- Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard: Excellent continuation of the Die Hard series. Noticeably different this time is the lack of constant cursing – particularly the "F" word – and a PG-13 rating. This is an obvious attempt to get a broader audience for the theatrical release. The cinematography was superb, and the story line excellent. There is, however, some overall believability problems for the older crowd, and some totally crazy action scenes – particularly one involving Officer McClain hanging from a semi trailer which is hanging off a destroyed highway bridge overpass and him falling onto a hovering fighter jet that crashes and McClain lands safe onto the ground hundreds off feet below. Other than that, this movie is a real thriller and well worth the ticket price.
I still want to see Delta Farce, Evan Almighty, The Simpsons Movie, Oceans 13 and Rush Hour 3. I’ll report once again after I’ve seen some of these.
